B.I.T.T. Services was the first Independent Assistive Technology Training company to provide support to students in receipt of DSA’s. Since starting in 2004, B.I.T.T. Services has expanded into providing Specialist Learning Support for students with a Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD), such as Dyslexia and Dyspraxia, as well as Mentoring for students with a Mental Health condition.  We are a DSA-QAG registered approved NMH Provider and therefore compliant against the Quality Assurance Framework.

Our Approach

For all our three services of Assistive Technology Tuition, Study Skills Support and Mentoring, we tailor each lesson to the students needs. Our approach is structured using best-in-class strategies that have been developed (and continually developed) over the last 15 years. Our team of tutors and mentors are experienced, knowledgeable and have exceptional interpersonal skills enabling them to build a rapport and positive relationship with every student.  Our sessions are centred around the students timetable and held in-person at either the students home address, institution (if we are allowed on site) or at one of the many offices across London that we have access too.  In each and every session our approach follows our core princples:

  • Person Centred – focusing around the students particular difficulties and addressing their specific needs.
  • Context Specific – focusing on the tasks in hand that are presenting as problematic.
  • Structured strategies – best-in-class that have been developed over the last 15 years
  • Care & empathy – we genuinely care about our students well-being and providing the best possible service and outcome

Our Non-Medical Helper Services:

Assistive Technology Training

Enabling students to get the best from their assistive technology software and hardware solutions through personalised strategies tailored uniquely to them.

Study Skills Support

Providing students with a variety of appropriate study and work based strategies for development of independent learning and academic success.

Supporting and encouraging students to manage their own learning, workload and wellbeing for increased academic and personal performance.

What to expect:

Whatever support service you access from us, you should expect to receive a high-quality service that will enrichen your studying experience and provide you with greater independence through learning.

One thing we do not do is your work for you as you will never gain the independence that you need to succeed. Instead, we work with you by teaching how to access the necessary tools and both identify and utilise the correct strategies that will enable you to address your challenges and take better control of how you learn and experience your studies.

Our Assistive Technology Training is typically booked in 3 hours slots, Study Skills Support 2 hours slots and Mentoring 1 hour slots.  There maybe examples where an individual has a specific reason to shorten their Assistive Technology Training to 2 hours and Study Skills Support to one hour slots.

Whoever you may engage with, whether one of our tutors, mentors or administrative members of the team, you will receive a professional service with the students well-being at the centre of every conversation.  With well established internal polices and processes your interaction with us will be consistent regardless of who you liaise with.

There may be instances following our engagement with the student where we ask for additional services to be recommended.  Our internal processes ensure a thoughtfully and truly justified recommendations is passed to you for your consideration and that we work collaboratively to provide the best possible service to the student.
