B.I.T.T. Services was the first independent Assistive Technology Training company to provide support to students in receipt of DSA’s. Since starting in 2004, B.I.T.T. Services has expanded into providing Specialist Learning Support for students with a Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD). This includes difficulties such as Dyslexia and Dyspraxia, as well as Mentoring for students with Mental Health conditions.  Because we are a DSA-QAG registered approved NMH Provider, we are completely compliant against the Quality Assurance Framework.

Our Approach

Most noteworthy we tailor each lesson to the student’s needs for all of our three services, including Assistive Technology Tuition, Study Skills Support and Mentoring. Our approach is structured using best-in-class strategies that have been developed (and continually developed) over the last 15 years. Furthermore our team of tutors and mentors are experienced, knowledgeable and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Enabling them to build a rapport and positive relationship with every student.  Sessions are centred around the student’s timetable and held in-person at either the students home address, institution (if we are allowed on site) or at one of the many offices across London that we have access to.  In each and every session our approach follows our core princples:

  • Person Centred – focusing around the students particular difficulties and addressing their specific needs.
  • Context Specific – focusing on the tasks in hand that are presenting as problematic.
  • Structured strategies – best-in-class that have been developed over the last 15 years
  • Care & empathy – we genuinely care about our students well-being and providing the best possible service and outcome

What to expect:

Students

Above all we work with you by teaching how to access the necessary tools and both identify and utilise the correct strategies. This will support you in addressing your challenges. Therefore enabling you to take better control of how you learn and experience your studies.

Assistive Technology Training is typically booked in 3 hours slots, Study Skills Support 2 hours slots and Mentoring 1 hour slots.  There maybe examples where an individual has a specific reason to shorten their Assistive Technology Training to 2 hours and Study Skills Support to one hour slots.

Assessors

Whoever you may engage with, whether one of our tutors, mentors or administrative members of the team, you will receive a professional service with the students well-being at the centre of every conversation.  With well established internal polices and processes your interaction with us will be consistent regardless of who you liaise with.

There may be instances following our engagement with the student where we ask for additional services to be recommended. Effective internal processes ensure that truly justified recommendations are passed to you for consideration. Most importantly we ensure that we work collaboratively to provide the best possible service to the student.
